Kingston, Jamaica - Jamaica's West Indies Under-19 campaigner Fabian Allen, representing All Century of St Elizabeth, and Gavin Wallace of GC Foster College, are the top batsman and wicket-taker, respectively, of the preliminary parish round of the Nestle Supligen Jamaica Cricket Association 10/10 Power Play competition.

Allen, in his three innings from three matches, scored 145 runs with 11 fours and 11 sixes. Unbeaten twice, with his average therefore matching his total of 145, his highest score was 57 against Uprising — a game where his all-round ability was on full show as he ended with three wickets for six runs. He is fourth in most wickets taken with a haul of 6.

Horace Miller of Waterford, second in the batting with just one run behind Allen's 145, was the round's top scorer, striking 80 off 29 balls with 11 fours and three sixes in his team's match against Hamilton Gardens.

Wallace, 13th in the batting on 63, with a top-score of 58, was the pick of the bowlers. He captured nine wickets for 37 runs with his best figures of four for 11 against Waterford. His run rate per over was 6.17.

The finals of this year's inaugural competition will be staged this weekend at the Three Hills Sports Complex, St Mary with play starting at 9:30 am each day. Eight teams over the two days will be vying for top honours — $100,000 in cash and a trophy.

Tomorrow, the opening day, Boscobel of St Mary will meet Chantilly of Westmoreland, All Century of St Elizabeth will be up against Waterford of Portmore, GC Foster College of Portmore will take on Deigo of St Elizabeth and Orange Hill of Westmoreland will be up against Area Two Police of St Mary.
