All Century win St Elizabeth 10/10 cricket title

Kingston, Jamaica - All Century defeated Deigo's Eleven by eight wickets to be crowned St Elizabeth parish champions in the second phase of the Supligen/Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Power Play 10/10 cricket competition at the Manley Horne Sports Oval on Sunday.

All Century pocketed the $10,000 winner's prize and Deigo's Eleven received $5,000 for finishing second. All Century and Deigo's Eleven have now joined Boscobel and Area 2 Police Sports Club of St Mary in the final round of eight for the Grand Final weekend.

Batting first, Deigo's Eleven got off to a promising start but were restricted to 78-8 from their allotted 10 overs. Ivan Powell top-scored with 19, as no other batsmen got into double figures against Romain Roy (2-0-7-4).

In reply, needing to score at over seven runs-per-over to win, All Century reached the target with 15 balls to spare. West Indies Under-19 batsman Fabian Allen led the successful run-chase with a superb knock of 45 to seal the deal for All Century.

Scores: Deigo's Eleven 78-8 (10 overs); All Century 82-2 (7.3 overs).

Uprising took third place after defeating Quick Step by eight runs in the early game at the Manley Horne Sports Oval venue.

Taking first strike, Uprising made 90-6, as Orane Nembhard top-scored with 28.

Jarrett Jones (1-2) was Quick Step's best bowler.

In reply, Quick Step got off to a strong start, but were restricted to 82-6 from their allotted 10 overs. Jones smashed 35 and Nedroy Green scored 24 against Troy Powell (2-9) and Shian Simpson (2-26).

With Boscobel, Area 2 Police, All Century and Deigo's Eleven booking their place in the last eight, the attention now turns to Round Three in Portmore, St Catherine where eight teams in that parish will battle for top spot between April 12 and 13.
