Adams, Singh, Chattergoon to lead respective teams in 4-Day Inter-County tourney

Georgetown, Guyana - Talented all-rounder Anthony Adams, discarded national middle-order batsman Vishal Singh and former West Indies opening batsman Sewnarine Chattergoon will lead their respective team, Essequibo, President’s XI and Berbice in the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)/GT&T senior inter-county four-day competition.

The tournament, which gets underway on Thursday, forms part of preparations for next year’s regional four-day competition.

This year, the GCB has included a President’s XI, increasing the number of teams to four.

Essequibo team reads:  Anthony Adams (captain), Royan Fredricks (vice-captain), Kevon Boddie, Ricardo Peters, Avenish Persaud, Herry Greene, Mark Tryll, Parmesh Parsotam, Rajiv Balgobin, Rovindra Parsaram, Kemo Paul, Keanu Harry, Dellon Heyliger and Gilford Moore. Vibert Johnson is the coach, while Totaram Ramnarine is the manager.

President’s XI team reads: Vishal Singh (captain), Shemroy Barrington (vice-captain), Robin Bacchus, Ryan Ramdass, Seon Hetmyer, Shaquille Williams, Jason Sinclair (wk), Romario Shepherd, Collis Butts, Steven Sankar, Kellon Carmichael, Andre Stoll, Dominique Rikhi and Seon Daniels. The coach is Esaun Crandon, and the manager is Robert Adonis.

Berbice team reads: Sewnarine Chattergoon (captain), Devendra Bishoo (vice-captain), Anthony D’Andrade, Assad Fudadin, Kandasammy Surujnarine, Eugene LaFleur, Jonathan Foo, Royston Crandon, Rajiv Ivan, Devon Clements, Anthony Bramble, Krisendatt Ramoo, Raun Johnson, Keon Joseph and. The coach is Hubern Evans and the manager is Albert Smith.

Meanwhile, Leon Johnson was named captain of the Demerara team.

Round one of the tournament will see a clash between Demerara and President’s XI at the Enmore Community Centre ground, while Essequibo face Berbice at the Demerara Cricket Club ground.

Round two is scheduled from December 5 and will see Berbice playing President’s XI at the Everest Cricket Club ground and Demerara opposing Essequibo at the Wales Community Centre ground.

The final round is fixed from December 12 where Demerara face Berbice at the Enmore Community Centre ground and Essequibo oppose President’s XI at the Police ground, Eve Leary.
