Georgetown, Guyana - Action in the Third Annual RAF’s Variety Store Hajjin Zeleena Rafeek Memorial countrywide Inter Jamaat Ten10 knock-out Softball cricket tournament continued on Sunday last with a number of matches which saw Queenstown, New Mosque, MYO and Farm B all recording victories.
At the MYO Ground, Woolford Avenue and Albert Streets -
Grove vs Farm B
Grove batted first and were limited to 81 for 5 in their allotted 10 overs. Shameer Fazal made 34 (1×4 2×6) and Imran Khan 28 (2×6). Avinash Mohabir and Budhan Baksh each picked up 2 wickets for Farm B who in reply eased their way to 83 for 3 off 8.2 overs.
Ricky Sargeant slammed 51*, hitting the boundary ropes four times whilst clearing it a similar amount of times. Shameer Hussain supported with 23 (1×4 2×6). Scores: Grove 81 for 5; Farm B 83 for 3.
MYO vs LBI
MYO took to the crease first and blasted their way to a massive 211 for 1 in their allotted 10 overs led by Saheed Gittens’ explosive unbeaten 105 and Richard Latiff’s 87*. LBI in reply were skittled out for a mere 21 runs.
Bowling for MYO, Salim Mohamed and Wazir Hussain took two wickets each for 4 and 6 runs respectively. Scores: MYO 211 for 1; LBI 21 all out.
New Mosque vs Non Pariel
Non Pariel made 96 for 4 in their allotted 10 overs; Abdool Kumar and Zaheer Alli hit 25 each. Bowling for New Mosque, Fazal Nazeem took 2 for 25.
New Mosque in response, hit off the required runs reaching 98 for 5 in 9.1 overs; Fizul Nazeem was not out on 30, S. Alli supported with 29. Scores: Non Pariel 96 for 4; New Mosque 98 for 5.
Queenstown vs Masjid Al Munawar
Masjid Al Munawar taking to the crease first struggled to 58 for 9 in their 10 overs; Stephen Persaud made 15 (1×4).
Toney Ajodha and Majeed Khan took 2 wickets each 4 and 11 runs respectively for Queenstown which in reply cruised to 59 for 2 in 5.4 overs.
Asif Ibrahim led with 28* (2×4 2×6) and Fadil Ahamad 15 not out (1×6). Zalim Rasheed took 1 for 20. Scores: Masjid Al Munawar 58 for 9; Queenstown 59 for 2.
