10 for Wray & Nephew Masters T20 cricket

Kingston, Jamaica - Ten teams have entered the third staging of the 2014 Wray and Nephew White Overproof Rum Masters T20 Over 40 cricket competition which is scheduled to begin on Sunday, June 1 with a double-header at the Kensington Park, Preston Road in Rollington Town.
The participating teams are defending champions Domtar Sports Club, Mico Masters, winners of the inaugural staging in 2012, Melbourne, Moneague Strikers from St Ann, Wray All-Stars, May Pen Lions, St Catherine, Portmore, AEROTEL/KOOL FM, and St Thomas.
Matches scheduled for June 1 are Moneague Strikers vs Mico Masters at 10:00 am, and Portmore vs St Catherine at 2:00 pm.
At a meeting held between the organising committee, representative of the 10 participating clubs, managers and captains at KOOL FM Office last Sunday, chairman of the organising committee Michael Barnett outlined that the prize money will remain the same as last year, where the winning team walk away with the top prize of $75,000 along with the champions trophy.
He said the runners-up will pocket $50,000, third place, $25,000, with the fourth place finisher receiving $15,000.
Barnett said for the first time, the organisers will be introducing the Duckworth/Lewis System (DLS), and also the super over if the scores are tied. Three points will go for a win and one for abandonment.
Meanwhile, the 10 teams are divided into two zones with the top two from each qualifying for the semi-finals.
ZONE A - Domtar Sports Club, Mico Masters, Moneague Strikers, May Pen Lions, AEROTEL/KOOL FM.
ZONE B - Wray All-Stars, St Catherine, Melbourne, Portmore and St Thomas.
