Richardson, Brathwaite join Windies squad as temporary cover for warm up matchImran Khan | 20/06/07WORCESTER, United Kingdom - The West Indies team management has requested the services of fast bowlers Andrew Richardson and Ruel Brathwaite as temporary cover for some players with niggling injuries (Dwayne Bravo - thumb, Fidel Edwards - ankle and Darren Sammy - hamstring) and as a result of the late arrival of the additional members of the One Day and 2020 squad (Dwayne Smith, Lendl Simmons and Austin Richards Jr). Richardson and Brathwaite will join the squad only for the warm up 50 over match against the England Lions (formerly known as England A) on Thursday June 21st at Worcester after which they will return to their previous engagements. Additionally Test players Corey Collymore, Jerome Taylor and Sylvester Joseph have remained with the squad as cover and will be available to play in the warm up game against England Lions, after which they will return home. Richardson is in England playing league cricket and Brathwaite attends Loughborough University. Richardson plays for Jamaica and has also played for the West Indies A Team. Brathwaite played for Barbados Under 19. Ravi Rampaul who suffered a minor groin tear and was ruled out of the third and fourth Test matches will be available for the warm up game. Dwayne Smith, Simmons and Richards Jr. will arrive in England on the morning of Thursday June 21st but will not participate in the first warm up game at Worcester and will join the squad in Derby. A full injury update will be provided on Friday June 22nd.
