Windies need 255 to win first Digicel ODI

04/03/10

The West Indies will need to make 255 to win the first Digicel One-Day International against Zimbabwe at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence. Zimbabwe won the toss, batted first and made 254-5 off their 50 overs. The topscore came from opener Vusi Sibanda, who made 95 with six boundaries and a six before he was spectacularly bowled by pacer Kemar Roach. Sibanda tried his best to keep out a fast yorker from Roach but missed and the bat was broken in half.

Tatenda Taibu also batted well to make 56 off 54 balls in a second-wicket stand of 100 with Sibanda in 19 overs. For West Indies medium-pacer Kieron Pollard took 2-59 while left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn was the tightest with 38 runs coming from his 10 overs.
