Winston Davis' Mother Passes

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent -- Former West Indies, Windward Islands & St. Vincent and the Grenadines fast bowler Winston Davis arrives in St. Vincent and the Grenadines today July 9th to attend the funeral of his mother Olive Christine Davis who passed away on July 2, 2009.

Winston Davis played 15 test matches, took 45 wickets at an average of 32.71, he also played 35 One Day Internationals. He has been living in England since 1998, after he was left paralyzed from the neck down suffering from spinal injuries, having fallen from tree.

Winston’s brother Kenrick Whyttle - Davis is a Regional First Class umpire and his nephew Roger Davis serves on the Executive of the SVG Cricket Association.

Mrs. Davis’ funeral service will take place on Friday 10th July at the St Peter’s Baptist Church in Dasent Cottage, her body will be interred at the Kingstown Cemetery,
