BASSETERRE, St Kitts (CMC) – Pinch-hitting wicket-keeper Luke Ronchi blasted 64 off 28 balls and additional half-centuries from Andrew Symonds, Mike Hussey and David Hussey highlighted a run-spree for Australia against West Indies in the fifth Digicel One-Day International on Sunday.
The efforts of the quartet pushed the tourists to 341 for eight off 50 overs after they opted to bat first at Warner Park.

BASSETERRE, St Kitts – Andrew Symonds smashed a brilliant 87 to guide Australia to a competitive total against West Indies in the fourth Digicel One-Day International at Warner Park on Friday.
After Australia were kept in check, Symonds increased the tempo to hit ten fours and two sixes off 78 balls that lifted the tourists to 282 for eight from 50 overs after they were put in.

Newcomers excited about their chances

Basseterre, St Kitts – Newcomers Nikita Miller and Shawn Findlay are excited to be given the chance to represent the West Indies and will be going all out to impress during the upcoming 4th and 5th Digicel One-Day Internationals against Australia.
Speaking after his first training session with the team on Wednesday, Miller -- the slim left-arm spinner noted that he was “surprised but happy” to be called up for the matches against Australia on Friday and Sunday at Warner Park.
Findlay, a tall left-handed batsman and outstanding fielder, noted that he always had a dream that one day he would get the chance to wear the West Indies colours and he was looking to make the most of the golden opportunity.

Dyson urges players to seek improvement

St Georges, Grenada – West Indies Head Coach John Dyson has called for his players to show improvement in all departments of the game as they seek to salvage some pride in the remaining matches of the Digicel One-Day Series against Australia.
The visitors have won the first three matches to take an unassailable lead in the five-match Digicel ODI series, following Sunday’s six-wicket win at the Grenada National Stadium.

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada (CMC) – Chris Gayle lashed a belligerent half-century, but West Indies failed to capitalise on a fine opening stand against Australia in the third Digicel One-Day International at the Grenada National Stadium on Sunday.
After Gayle’s enterprising 53 off 54 balls and a third-wicket half-century partnership between Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, West Indies fell into decline and were dismissed for 223 in 48 overs.

Update: 2nd Digicel ODI

St. George's, GRENADA -- Australia won the toss and have chosen to bat in the 2nd Digicel ODI.
West Indies have made several changes to their team that played in St. Vincent. Shivnarine Chanderpaul returns to the team, while the ailing Ramnaresh Sarwan has been left out of the final eleven. Patrick Browne will perform wicketkeeping duties, while Daren Powell returns to the squad in place of Fidel Edwards.
Australia too, have also made one change to their team. Wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi makes his ODI debut, and replaces the injured Brad Haddin.
Australia leads the 5-match series one nil.

Gayle: We must bounce back strong

St George’s, Grenada – The West Indies have the firm belief that they will be able to “bounce back strong” against Australia and square the Digicel One-Day Series when the second Digicel One-Day International is played on Friday.
Captain Chris Gayle is confident his men can turn the tables in the 2nd Digicel One-Dayer at Grenada National Stadium, after the Windies lost the 1st Digicel One-Dayer in St Vincent on Tuesday.

Coach Dyson defends decision to field first

KINGSTOWN, St Vincent (CMC) – West Indies coach John Dyson has defended a decision to field first in the opening Digicel One-Day International against Australia.
After winning the toss in overcast conditions, the hosts invited Australia to bat and the tourists posted a challenging 273 for eight from 50 overs and went on to win by 84 runs at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex on Tuesday.

KINGSTOWN, St Vincent (CMC) – Coach John Dyson has lamented West Indies’ lack of all-round effort after they handed Australia an easy win in the first Digicel One-Day International at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex on Tuesday.
After asking Australia to bat first, the tourists posted 273 for eight from 50 overs and West Indies responded with 189 in 39.5 overs to lose by 84 runs.
