Caribbean T20 top side set for spot in Group B of Champions League
The top regional team in the upcoming West Indies Cricket Boards Caribbean T20 Tournament will compete in Group B of the second annual Airtel Champions League T20 Tournament, the organizers announced this week.The other Group B teams in the Champions League are Mumbai Indians, Highveld Lions, South Australia Redbacks and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach moved up a whopping nine places to 38th spot when the International Cricket Council Test bowling rankings were announced on Wednesday. The pacy Barbadian who celebrates his 22nd birthday today played in two matches and ended the series six wickets at 31 runs per wicket.

West Indies batting star Shiv Chanderpaul believes his team still has a chance of beating South Africa in the third and final Digicel Test match at Kensington Oval in Barbados. Chanderpaul stood tall on Monday and will resume Tuesday on 57, which has so far come off 156 balls with six boundaries.

Captain Devon Smith scored a brilliant century as West Indies A team amassed 329-6 against India A in their first match of the tri-nation series at Northampton on Monday. The left-hander made 104 off 98 balls and featured in an opening stand of 193 with Andre Fletcher who hit 88 off 93 balls.

West Indies left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn was superb on Sunday taking 4-59 from 31 testing overs to restrict South Africas scoring on the second day of the third and final Digicel Test match.Playing in front of his family and supporters at his home ground Kensington Oval, in Barbados the tall Benn bowled with great control and attacked the batsman.

Darren Bravo to join West Indies A team for tri-nation series
The selection panel of the West Indies Cricket Board announced on Sunday that left-handed batsman Darren Bravo will join the West Indies A Team for the upcoming tri-nation series in England with the England Lions and India A. Bravo, 21, was a member of the West Indies squad for the Digicel Series against South Africa but did not play in the Test matches.

Brandon Bess makes debut as Windies bat first in 3rd Digicel Test
West Indies captain Chris Gayle won the toss and decided to bat first in the third Digicel Test match against South Africa at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday. Fast bowler Brandon Bess was called up to make his debut after pacer Nelon Pascal suffered a neck injury in the warm-up exercises. Bess, the 22-year-old six-footer from Guyana is a member of the Sagicor West Indies High Performance Centre.

Sammy ruled out of third Digicel Test with thigh injury
West Indies allrounder Darren Sammy suffered an injury late Thursday during the teams training session. He had scans on Friday which revealed a tear to his upper right thigh. He will therefore be unavailable for selection for the third Digicel Test match against South Africa at Kensington Oval, which bowls off on Saturday.

The West Indies and South Africa played to a draw in the second Digicel Test match at Warner Park in St Kitts. When stumps were drawn midway during the final session on Tuesday, the Proteas were on with 235-3 in their second innings in the high-scoring contest.
