CARIB BEER SERIES 01/04/08 3:18 PM The domestic season starts today! Let's have the discussions here..... Barbados won the toss and is bowling against the Windwards. Guyana meanwhile is batting against Trinidad. Haven't heard about the other game though. |

RE: CARIB BEER SERIES 01/04/08 10:20 PM T&T v Guyana T&T - 267/4 Chattergoon 130 Sarwan 63* Winwards v Bim Winwards - 190 Bim - 64/3 Pascal 3/28 - takes the first 3 wickets - good going ----------------------------- Peeps I'm watching this year very closely Chattergoon Sarwan Jermaine Lawson Odean Brown Nelson Pascal Kerron Pollard Sarwan should walk back into the West Indies team at the expense of Morton who obviously will not cut it. Also Chattergoon should get a go at opening at the expense of first Devon Smith and eventually Darren Ganga. 2 or 3 good pacers needed and it is time for Lawson to get back into the picture. |

RE: CARIB BEER SERIES 01/04/08 11:59 PM LBW, i agree with your choice of people to watch this year,although i am somewhat surprise you did not mention the young guy from T&T ( Barath), and i also agree with dropping Morton, i will however give Devon one more chance with Chatergoon his likely successor, personally i think the opening position is up for grabs as the candidates are very thin on ground at the moment, maybe a chance can be given to Rommel Currency once he resumes, he is very steady and can give more i believe. In the pace department i think the young guns look quite useful. All in all i think things are looking good for the future of WI cricket, i think you will see a lot of young men performing very well in the U19 world cup to be held soon and could well bring it home. |

RE: CARIB BEER SERIES 01/05/08 4:24 AM no offence but u ent think Lawson was sent to Austraila to correct his "so-called" bowling action he "spoil"? i mean the man was real good... but once again... we... wat....give ourselves up to the aussies.....look at murali...they wanted him to go correct his action in austraila too but he said that he prefered to go to england...look at him now....since coming from austrialia the man hasnt commanded his place on the team again u know....i think is time for some serious selectors.....lbw..u want to be the chairman? |

I cant take the market woman behaviour. Do I think Devon Smith should be there ? NO - Devon Smith is not going through a bad patch, he's going through a whole blasted garden. I have always stated that Devon Smith has a serious problem with the ball on a good length as he neither goes forward or backward and always give a catch to the keeper of slips and he still has not sorted out that. I forgot Adrian barath who I would put above Kieron Pollard any day. RE: CARIB BEER SERIES 01/05/08 12:23 PM Jermaine Lawson has a kink, similar to Brett lee when he bowls the faster one, similar to Murali the chucker when he bowls the doosra, why do ou think Lawson and Murali come under the microscope and not Chuckie Lee. WICB needs to step up their mentoring of Lawson and PLAY HIM. He's a critical asset that is being left out of the equation. BTW Winwards beating Barbados wouldn be a big deal, considering Barbados' run of late, but I can confidently say IT WONT HAPPEN !!! With Lewis and Sammy in the Windies team Winwards are an even weaker team than usual. |

RE: CARIB BEER SERIES 01/05/08 1:55 PM devon smith and ganga need replacing,havn't seen much of parchment to form much of a opinion but obviously sarwan should be in and give parchment a chance in the team,also forget rawl lewis and pick sammy and go for a all out pace attack,also ramdin needs replacing by browne,he needs to get his act together with the bat. i would like to see this team- gayle parchment sarwan chanderpaul samuels browne bravo sammy taylor edwards powell other squad members being- rampaul ramdin banks morton chattergoon |
